you mention Splenda as a sugar substitute. I have done some research and Splenda contains aspartame which has horrible side affects. Check ou Sun crystals that is made with pure cane sugar and stevia that is all, I use it and you can't tell the difference AND it does not contain aspartame. I stay away from any products that contain aspartame, even gum. It definitely is harmful to your body. Thanks for the info on the core plan. Carol Honohan

Actually Iam a leader who followed the core plan and lost over 4 stone in a year and a half, but would like to put it right its 21 points a week not 35!
Even though they have got rid of the core plan and I preached the word of points in my meeting evey week iam going back to what I know best which is core as I cant be dealing with counting these points.

I just came across this site. I see no one has posted in a long time but I wanted to lay out the "rules" of core. Sorry Marcela, I know you mean well but you don't understand the plan.

Eat as much and as often of the items on the core food list to feel satisfied...not full.

Follow all of the rules listed above; such as potatos only once a day.

If you eat anything not on the core list you must calculate the points value. You are allowed 35 a week. You may not bank points for the following week.

Drink lots of water, 8 glasses a day.

Exersize at least 20 min. a day if posible.

Good luck all! It really does work if you work it!

I am from India and we have Roti(similar to Tortia) as one of our main meal item. Roti is made out of 100% wheat flour. Do you think it can be considered as core since whole wheat Pasta is core.

I asked this question to leader in WW meetings and she could not answer.

Thanks.

I have been on the points system for about 2 1/2 months now and have had success. I am considering changing to the core plan, maybe even just for a little while as to not plateau. My question...how many dairy servings are allowed per day?

Thanks for your time. Jenny

I have been a member of WW for a while. I have always done the flex plan but I have decided to switch to the core plan. Its my understanding that you dont "count points" with the core plan. That is the purpose behind the plan...you dont have to count everything as long as its on "the list" you then have 35 points a week to use towards bread or things that are not on the list. You are suppose to control your portions by recognizing when you feel sasisfied...not full..or stuffed. They also recomend that you stop halfway through your meal and rest a few minutes and evaluate how full you feel. The website had great pointers and recipies for both plans..and its much cheaper than paying for a weekly meeting.
