When my oldest son was in middle school, his friend's grandmother always picked them up from school. When he would finally show up and crawl out of her car, he always had a fresh apple and a bottle of watre--both of which he was consuming! I loved it!

I tend to grab the cheese sticks as a quick pick me up for my younger children, an occasional banana, and apple slices...they will also eat baby carrots if I have them.
