Diet foods help you loose weight – MYTH or FACT?

Yes, they may have less calories but that doesn’t mean that diet foods are better for you. Prepackaged diet foods can have a lot of sugar and trans fat. With fat it is the same as with carbs. It is about the quality of fat, not the amount. Beware of trans fats and saturated fats; they have been linked with heart disease and even cancer. Better options are monounsaturated fats (nuts, olive oil, avocados). Try to read the labels and think about the quality of food. Sometimes it is better to eat “the real” food than the fat free variations. Just watch you portions and you can eat everything, just like Europeans do.
