Running will not save your muscles.

I saw President Bill Clinton on TV yesterday. He looks old to me. I was wondering why is that. Then I saw his body in T-shirt. He is slim but very flabby with wrinkled skin. I know he jogs every day that is very good for his cardio-vascular system and for burning calories. He should also lift some weights, build some muscles and prevent “shrinking”. He should focus on his upper body, his posture, his core muscles. His legs are probably good from running. :-)
We start loosing muscles around age 40 but the weight training can prevent and slower this process. More muscles you have more energy your body will burn resting, you’ll look younger and stronger. It’s very important to do some weight training besides your cardio training. Your body and bones will appreciate it.
