Is your Aerobic Instructor watching you?

When in Europe I love to go to some aerobic classes. I love the quality of the most instructors there. What I like on European instructors?

They teach class facing you. In that way it’s easier for the instructor to make an eye contact and to control student’s technique.

They know how to teach. Most of the time they use a pyramid method during teaching some choreography classes. They make sure that everyone got the moves. Even if you are the first time in the class you get all the moves and combinations. Unfortunately, it happened to me here (USA) several times that some instructors don’t care about a new people. They start to do their routine without really teaching it. They usually teach same routine for a several months and assume that everybody memorized it already so they don’t bother teaching it. They don’t care that a new people just flying around without knowing the right directions.

In my opinion a good instructor must be able to teach everyone, all levels. Watch your instructor next time you are in the class. Is he (she) facing you? Is he (she) correcting you? Do you have an option to pick your level?
